The world of darkness is not a nice place. It is a world where violence, cruelty, and indifference are commonplace. Most of its inhabitants are unhappy much of the time (even the ones with digital watches), and everyone just does their best to get by.

It is also a setting with a great deal of storytelling potential: In such a world there is room for heroes, a few people can make a difference, stakes are high, rewards can be even higher. There are antagonists to struggle against, people to rescue, mysteries to solve, and catastrophes to prevent.

From a role-playing perspective the world of darkness is a very interesting place.
